The Batang Police arrested two suspects in the burglary of a safe containing gold bars in a house of a resident of Gringsing Village who was leaving the city. Two suspects are still one village neighbor with the victim.

They are Juli Yanto (33) and Andhika Ardiansyah (30), two suspects who are residents of Gringsing Village, Gringsing District, Batang Regency, Central Java.

"The perpetrator who knew the victim's house was empty, then entered by prying out the bedroom window using a piece of wood," said Batang Police Chief AKBP Mohamad Irwan Susanto during a press conference in Batang, Tuesday, December 27, confiscated by Antara.

In the examination of the two suspects, apart from gold stems, there were also 15 jewelry, laptops and money reaching Rp420 million.

Meanwhile, Andhika Ardiansyah played a role in monitoring the situation and keeping the windows from being closed, receiving safes from inside the victim's house, and receiving money from the proceeds of the crime.

He said the suspect in July Yanto had fled to Bogor after learning that his crime was recorded by CCTV at the victim's house.

Based on the CCTV footage, the Gringsing Police and the Batang Police Satreskrim team then carried out an in-depth and investigation until they identified the two perpetrators.

"The suspect July Yanto was arrested in Bogor on December 22, 2022, while Andhika Ardiasyah was arrested at his home on December 13, 2022. The perpetrator himself distributed the proceeds of the crime by transferring them through an account," he said.

The two suspects who are now languishing in the Batang Police Headquarters cell will be charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a penalty of 9 years in prison.
