A Boy Drowned In Kendari Bay Found DEAD

The joint SAR team managed to find a girl who was reported missing due to being swept away by a current in the waters of Kendari Bay, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi, in a state of death.

Head of the Kendari Basarnas Aris Sofingi in Kendari, Sunday said the victim named Aqila Putri Emperor (12) was reported missing while bathing or swimming in the waters.

"At 16.30 WITA, the Kendari KPP Rescue Team arrived at the last location where the victim was reported missing and immediately conducted a search. At 16.42 WITA the Joint SAR Team found the victim dead," he said, quoted from ANTARA.

He said the victim was found about 20 meters west of the last location where the victim was reported missing. The victim was found with the help of an unmanned plane (drone) belonging to residents who helped carry out the search.

Aris said the victim's body was then evacuated to the funeral home and handed over to the family on Jalan Badak, Wundumbatu Village, Poasia District, Kendari.

He explained that initially the victim and his brother and 5 friends went to Kendari Bay on Madusila Street, Wundumbatu Village, Poasia District, in front of the Kendari DPRD Office to swim.

However, due to the swift ocean currents accompanied by high tides, the victim was swept away and lost. The search has been carried out by his family but with no results.
