JAKARTA - The head of the Bali Information and Communication Agency emphasized that Bali Governor I Wayan Koster has prohibited travelers to Bali from consuming alcoholic drinks (miras) on New Year's Eve. Balinese wine is also prohibited.

"There was no sentence that was uttered by the Governor of Bali with the tone 'Prohibit alcoholic parties except Arak Bali at Christmas New Year' on December 15, 2020," said the Office of Communication and Information and Bali Statistics, Gede Pramana in a written statement from the Bali Provincial Government, Monday, December 21.

Denpasar Prepares Security for the Christmas-New Year

The Government of Denpasar City, Bali Province discussed security preparations ahead of Christmas and New Year 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Security for Christmas and New Year 2021 must be prepared starting today. Therefore a coordination meeting was held with related agencies, including the implementation of health protocols," said Head of Denpasar City Transportation Agency I Ketut Sriawan.

He said that during the Christmas and New Year periods from December 19, 2020 to January 4, 2021, an integrated post team was formed.
