Ganjar Collaborating Breeders And Developing Students Joining Batur In Dieng

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo met 450 farmers, millennial farmers and farmer girl groups (KWT) Banjarnegara. Ganjar held a dialogue about artificial insemination and development of Batur sheep.

Artificial insemination (IB) is the process of embedding disbursed frozen cement (spermatozoa), which comes from superior male livestock, into the female reproductive tract. So as to improve the genetic quality of livestock in a short time, and produce large quantities of subsidiaries, using human assistance and special tools called insemination guns.

Ganjar said that currently the development of Batur sheep is going well. Farmers receive assistance from a number of universities.

So, in Dieng, Batur sheep are being developed, and there are quite good results. It turned out that several farmer groups, farmer women, breeders, were accompanied by one of them IPB (Bogor Agricultural Institute), and the results were good. The meat content has been analyzed by IPB," said Ganjar, quoted from the provincial government's official website.

He added that Dieng is not only raising traditionally, but also modern. It remains only for farmers to be given maximum assistance.

It's not really that difficult, it just takes persistence and needs more training. I used to ask for a cooking competition for Batur sheep, looking for world-class chefs, only Indonesian ones. And this meat is cooked with a variety of good flavors. We'll choose and present it later," continued the governor.

Thus, added Ganjar, sheep processing will later become an alternative for tourism in Dieng. Because it is not only processed into satay and sugary, but other forms of food have developed.

With this great technology, we hope that we can be very advanced. Including earlier from Undip, accompanying artificial insemination. Five months will harvest cempe (children of goats), at the same time we ask for help whether from Undip, IPB, Unsoed, to help teach farmer groups, how to manage their business. So that it becomes a profitable business scale," added Ganjar.

According to him, in 2023, 33 groups of breeders in Banjarnegara will receive the help of sheep. Each group received 27 sheep and six Javanese goats.

The arrival of the white-haired Governor, apart from having a dialogue, also planted Arabica coffee seeds in the Dieng area.

"If they stay here, be the hosts, they can produce and with the district government, it can be used as a tour package. This is agro-tourism, so earlier I also planted coffee above, looking from above this the area stretches well," he said.

According to Ganjar, the potential that exists in Dieng, both livestock and agriculture, can be explored in such a way as a tourism magnet.
