The General Election Commission (KPU) has amended the KPU Regulation (PKPU) related to the provisions regarding the stages of nomination of individuals participating in the DPD election in four new autonomy regions (DOB) in Papua, as a follow-up to the issuance of Perppu Number 1 of 2022 Amendments to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. The changes were made to PKPU Number 13 of 2022 concerning Amendments to General Election Commission Regulation Number 10 of 2022 concerning Candidacy for Individual Participants in General Elections for Regional Representative Council Members, which reads: "This Commission Regulation regulates the program and schedule for the delivery of voter minimum support at the nomination stage for individual election participants for DPD members in 2024 for Papua Province, South Papua Province, Central Papua Province, Papua Mountains Province, West Papua Province, and Southwest Papua Province and the implementation of the nomination stages for individual DPD member elections in 2024 in South Papua Province, Central Papua Province, Papua Mountains Province, and Southwest Papua Province" KPU member Idham Holik said this PKPU regulates the program and schedule for the delivery of support for at least the Voters at the nomination stage for individual DPD member elections in 2024. With the PKPU, according to Idham, candidates for DPD members can submit a minimum voter support requirement in 4 DOBs. Idham said that currently the KPU in 4 DOBs is still in the formation stage. "The candidates for DPD RI in the 4 Papuan DOBs, have been able to start submitting the form of minimum requirements for the support of DPD candidates from January 26, 2022 to January 8, 2023," said Idham. Adapun Dasar Hukum PKPU ini adalah UU Nomor 7 Tahun 2017 sebagaimana telah diubah dengan Perppu Nomor 1 Tahun 2022. Kemudian, PKPU Nomor 8 Tahun 2019 sebagaimana telah beberapa kali diubah terakhir dengan PKPU Nomor 5 Tahun 2022. Serta PKPU No. 3 Tahun 2022 dan PKPU Nomor 10 Tahun 2022.
