Polda Metro Jaya Prepares Humanitarian Operations When The Masses Of 1812 Hold Action

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya conducted a humanitarian operation in the event of a crowd during the 1812 demonstration on Friday, December 18, in the vicinity of the State Palace by the 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA).

"If there is any action, we will carry out humanitarian operations," said Head of Metro Jaya Police Inspector General Fadil Imran at the Jakarta Police Headquarters, Thursday, December 17.

Inspector General Fadil emphasized that public safety is a matter that must be prioritized and one of the threats facing society today is the COVID-19 virus.

"Public safety is the highest law, there is already a Law on Quarantine, Health, an epidemic of infectious diseases, a regional regulation, a Pergub, a Governor's Instruction, we will carry it out in the form of a humanitarian operation," he added.

He gave an example of the clusters that appeared in Tebet and Petamburan which proved to be very dangerous to the safety of the community.

"We will carry out 3T (Testing, Tracing and Treatment) so that the crowd can be controlled. The Petamburan and Tebet clusters have proven that crowds are very dangerous," said Inspector General Fadil.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya confirmed that it had not issued a notification receipt (STTP) for the 1812 demonstration on Friday, December 18 at the State Palace, Central Jakarta.

"Not issuing, permits not being issued," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus.

Yusri explained that the police did not issue a demonstration permit because of health protocol regulations that prohibit crowds in the community.

However, if there is a crowd, the police will persuasively disperse the masses to prevent the emergence of a new COVID-19 cluster.

"We say that if there is a crowd, we say there should be no crowd. We will carry out humanitarian operations," he said.
