South Kalimantan Cagub Denny Indrayana Is A Thin Difference From Uncle Birin's, KPU Is Ready To Face Dispute In MK

BANJARMASIN - The General Election Commission (KPU) of South Kalimantan Province ensures that it is ready to face disputes over the results of the open plenary meeting of the recapitulation of vote count results for the 2020 governor and deputy governor elections at the Constitutional Court (MK).

According to the Chairman of the KPU South Kalimantan, Sarmuji, if there are pairs of candidates who do not accept the results, they are welcome to take the MK route.

"But we are still praying, hopefully this plenary meeting will finish quickly, smoothly without any objections, but if anyone has any objections, please feel free after 3x24 hours of working days to sue the Constitutional Court," he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 17.

KPU emphasized that Sarmuji would prepare an answer to the dispute by the party who objected to the result of the recapitulation determined.

"We will prove and answer any disputes, our team is ready," he said.

According to Sarmuji, if there is a dispute to the Constitutional Court, of course the determination of the winner of the South Kalimantan Regional Head Election will be postponed, until there is an official MK decision.

"How is the Constitutional Court's decision, is it rejected or what we will do, at the latest 5 days after the Court's decision," said Sarmuji.

However, if there is no lawsuit, within three days after the plenary meeting is over, the candidate pairs that get the highest votes will be applied.

The South Kalimantan Pilkada was followed by two pairs of candidates, namely, candidate number 1 is the pair H Sahbirin Noor and H Muhidin, then the pair number 2 is Prof. H Denny Indrayana and H Difriadi Derajat.

From the data as of 12.32 WIB, Sahbirin or Uncle Birin is temporarily ahead with 50.3 percent. Meanwhile, cagub Denny Indrayana earned 49.7 percent of votes. KPU on its website states that this temporary data is a calculation of 8,663 polling stations from 9,069 polling stations.
