JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Task Force said that the government will ensure that the COVID-19 vaccine is available to all people without exception, from children to the elderly.

However, the vaccination program to prevent transmission of COVID-19 will be carried out in stages and health workers will be the top priority.

"The government is currently reviewing various technical matters related to the vaccination program. In principle, the government wants to ensure that vaccines are available to all Indonesians," said Wiku Adisasmito, spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force in a press conference broadcast on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday. , December 15th.

In administering this vaccine, continued Wiku, the government has also prepared two schemes, namely government and independent assistance. It's just that, until now, the government is still carrying out further discussions regarding the available schemes.

If all matters are discussed by stakeholders, he said, the government will immediately inform the public.

"This will be informed after an official decision is made. The details regarding the implementation of vaccination are still under discussion," he said.

Previously reported, the COVID-19 vaccine from Sinovac arrived in Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Sunday night, December 6 at around 21.25 WIB. The vaccine is transported using an aircraft belonging to the airline PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk, a Boeing 777-300ER type aircraft and will then be brought to the vaccine warehouse at PT Bio Farma.

Regarding the arrival of this vaccine, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the number of vaccines arriving in the country was 1.2 million doses. The former governor of DKI Jakarta said that the arrival of this vaccine is good news and new hope in handling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
