Attorney Lukas Enembe Does Not Want To Be Examined In Jakarta, KPK: If You Don't Have Money, Coordinate With Us

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will again summon the lawyer for the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe, Aloysius Renwarin. He will certainly continue to be questioned at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"For legal advisers who don't want to be questioned in Jakarta, yes, we will still summon them temporarily," KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Karyoto told reporters, Tuesday, November 29.

Karyoto said there was no reason for Aloysius to ask for an examination in Jayapura. In fact, if he doesn't have money, the KPK is ready to bail him out first.

"Actually there is no reason not to be able to come, except if you really don't have money or there are problems, maybe you can coordinate with us on ways to bring those concerned to Jakarta," he said.

The KPK ensures that it will ask for information from anyone related to the alleged corruption that ensnared Lukas. Moreover, this case received the attention of the leadership of the anti-corruption commission.

"This Papua issue is indeed of particular concern to us and the leadership in terms of the actions to be taken," said Karyoto.

Previously, Aloysius was willing to be examined as a witness in the alleged corruption case that ensnared Lukas. However, he asked for an examination to be carried out in Jayapura, Papua.

This request was made because he is currently advocating and providing legal assistance to Lukas who is currently in Jayapura. "So I asked the KPK to be examined in Papua," said Aloysius in his written statement.

Aloysius said he had sent a letter to the KPK. He even claimed that the request had already been approved by KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur.
