JAKARTA - Investigators of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police have scheduled the transfer of suspects and evidence of alleged fraud in the sale of MotoGP tickets which will take place in March 2022 at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, explained that the agenda was a follow-up to the results of the prosecutor's research which stated that the suspect's files were complete.

"So, the agenda for the transfer of suspects and evidence from this case is still being coordinated for the timing of its implementation. What is clear is that it will be implemented soon because the files have been declared complete", said Artanto in Mataram, Antara, Monday, November 28.

The suspect, in this case, has the initials IW, Head of the Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) of Central Lombok Regency. The suspect is suspected of carrying out a fraudulent mode against the victim by taking advantage of his position.

However, from the results of the police case, the element of the suspect's unlawful act is more directed to the alleged fraud. "That's why investigators apply the suspicion of Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud", he said.

From the results of the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect IW had fraudulently sold MotoGP tickets to a victim with a loss of at least IDR 65 million.

The victim reported IW to the police because the tickets he bought from IW could not be exchanged during registration with the MotoGP event organizing committee.

Regarding IW's status as a suspect, investigators did not make arrests but implemented mandatory reporting.
