Wants To Meet Children In Germany, Syrian Citizen Caught uUsing Fake Passport While Transiting In Indonesia

The Special Class I Immigration Office of TPI Soekarno - Hatta, Tangerang City held a case for a Syrian citizen to fake a Passport

JAKARTA - A foreign citizen (WNA) from Syria with the initials GSA (60) was detained by the Immigration Office Class I Special TPI Soekarno-Hatta, Tangerang City, for using a fake UAE (United Arab Emirates) passport.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office, Muhhamad Tito Andrianto, said that the GSA used a UAE passport with the services of an agent because it was considered easier.

Tito also said that the real purpose of GSA was to go to Germany, to meet the child who was a refugee for 9 years in the country.

GSA flies using KLM Royal Dutch Airline KL810 and transits in Indonesia.

"He was going to Germany, he was in transit. Because he felt it would be difficult to use a Syrian passport, he used a UAE passport with the services of an agent", Tito told reporters at the Immigration Office, Monday, November 28.

"When we were in Indonesia, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, we checked and it turned out that the passports used were fake", he continued.

Tito also said that the fake passport used by the GSA was detected through the VSC 80i device which proved that the passport had undergone several modifications.

"It has undergone modifications starting from the security feature of UV rays that do not glow on the biodata page. The sewing thread is an ordinary thread, there are re-stitching holes, the perforations are not round, precision and irregular, the microprinting "United Arab Emirates" on the cover page is biased, and the corner of the passport book looks asymmetrical", he said.

GSA was charged with Article 119 of Indonesia Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration with a maximum imprisonment of 5 years and a maximum fine of IDR 500 million.
