Students Who Go Viral On Social Media Bring Sharp Weapons Finally Become Suspects Even Though They Are Underage

SERANG - Ciruas Police have named 3 out of 8 junior high schools (SMP) students in Ciruas Subdistrict as suspects for possession of sharp weapons. RY (14) RI (15) and ER (15) all three are residents of Ciruas Subdistrict, Serang Regency, students who are still underage.

"Based on the results of the investigation conducted by the Satreskrim investigators, 3 of the 8 students were further processed for possession of sharp weapons", said the Head of the Ciruas Sector Police of the Serang Police, Commissioner Hasan Khan, to the media, Thursday, November 24.

Hasan emphasized that his party will take firm action and process according to the law that applies to anyone who commits street crimes.

"By the leadership's orders, namely the Banten Police Chief, his party will take firm action and process according to the law that applies to anyone, including students who are caught carrying sharp weapons. This is done to anticipate the re-emergence of street thugs and youth groups that cause public unrest", said Commissioner Hasan.

Hasan also said that the determination of the 3 suspects began with securing 34 students who were involved in a brawl, 8 of whom were found to be carrying sharp weapons.

"A total of 34 junior high school students were detained by Ciruas Police after a viral brawl on social media. And of the 34 students, 8 of them were taken to the Serang Police for further processing for carrying sharp weapons. While 26 other students were sent home after the Ciruas Police called parents and school teachers concerned", Commissioner Hasan explained.

In a few weeks, Commissioner Hasan said the community had been made uneasy due to the actions of teenagers brawling with various types of sharp weapons that caused the victim to die.

"I remind parents to be more strict about their children so they don't wander around, especially at night. If you love your children, don't let them leave the house without a clear purpose", said Commissioner Hasan.
