JAKARTA - The United States has authorized an additional 400 million US dollars or around IDR 6.252.000.000.000 of military assistance to Ukraine, which will include weapons, ammunition and air defense equipment, Foreign Minister Antony Blinken said on Wednesday.
"The artillery munitions, precision fire, air defense missiles and tactical vehicles we have provided will provide Ukraine with the best on the battlefield," Foreign Minister Blinken said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) said the package includes additional ammunition for the NASAMS air defense system and for the high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS).
Earlier, President Joe Biden said he expected US aid to Ukraine to continue uninterrupted, despite reservations from Republicans, who are expected to use their new majority in the House to monitor aid flows more closely.
The Biden Administration has so far provided $19.7 billion worth of military aid to Ukraine, during which the country went to war sparked by Russia's invasion nine months ago.
