JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ordered the Head of Health to send an additional medical team to assist the process of treating earthquake victims in Cianjur, West Java. There are still many people who have suffered serious injuries such as fractures.

"We will send additional doctors from Headquarters to be able to help victims with average fractures, so that they can be overcome here," said General Sigit in his statement, Wednesday, November 23.

The implementation of the additional medical team was also due to the many health facilities being damaged by the earthquake. Thus, it is hoped that the treatment process will not be disrupted.

In addition, Sigit continued, his party will maximize the establishment of emergency tents at Bhayangkara hospitals.

"Of course there will be some improvements in the future that we will carry out, but in principle we can still serve patients in Bhayangkara hospitals, including we also prepare additional tents and places for trauma healing," he said.

The four-star general also said that he had coordinated with parties regarding medical needs. Later, if there is a shortage of health workers, assistance will be sent immediately.

"Mr. Kapusdokkes has also prepared a special Brigade for us to move in handling earthquakes," said Sigit.

For information, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 rocked the Cianjur area, West Java on Monday, November 21.
