JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the Indonesian Attorney General had to work hard to defend the interests of the state and carry out asset rescue.

However, he asked that the law enforcement that was taken did not cause fear and hamper everything.

"The Attorney General's Office must also work hard to defend the interests of the state, save state assets. However, law enforcement should also not cause fear that hinders acceleration, hinders innovation," Jokowi said when opening the Prosecutor's Working Meeting which was held online and broadcast on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat. , Monday, December 14th.

He said that the supervision of the Attorney General's Office should be directed at accelerating national development, especially those originating from the state budget. This is because this budget needs to be spent appropriately but on the one hand it must be properly used.

In addition, monitoring the use of the State Budget needs to be done optimally in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, Indonesia can get out of the health crisis that is currently happening.

Furthermore, Jokowi also touched on the problem of handling corruption handled by the Adhiyaksa Corps. He said, the AGO must be able to increase the return of state assets.

"The handling of corruption must also be able to increase the return of welfare assets to the state," he said.

"Earlier, the Attorney General said that it has returned approximately Rp. 19 trillion, this is a very large amount and can prevent further corruption," he concluded.
