BANJARMASIN - Unit 1 Team Sub-Directorate 1 Indagsi of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police arrested a celebgram with the initials MF who sold cosmetics without a distribution permit of the Center for Drug and Food Supervision (BPOM) in Banjarmasin. "The perpetrators sell cosmetics of various types of body lotion under the trading name Fazarbungaz," said Head of Sub-Directorate 1 Indagsi of the South Kalimantan Police Ditreskrimsus AKBP Leo Martin Pasaribu, in Banjarmasin, Antara, Thursday, November 17. The results of the officer's examination of goods sold through social media and online shops, did not include an expiration date or period of use which is a mandatory requirement for BPOM. As the rule, every product that is traded either consumed or applied to the skin must be clearly contained through the test stages by BPOM. Leo said the celebgram, the owner of Fazarbungaz's Instagram account with 108 thousand followers, had been named suspects and detained since Wednesday, November 16. Investigators ensnared him under Article 197 of Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning Health as amended in paragraph 11 of Article 60 number 10 of Law No. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and/or Article 62 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph (1) letter (G) of Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. He also reminded the public to be smart in buying a product, especially cosmetics, because it is very vulnerable to contamination from various dangerous chemicals if it is not through BPOM licensing so that it threatens health. Meanwhile, business actors are required to produce or distribute pharmaceutical preparations for the type of cosmetic licensed by BPOM, by including an expiration date or the best use period on goods. "So apart from being a smart buyer, you must also be a smart seller," said Leo representing the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Suhasto.
