Meeting US President Joe Biden, Jokowi Hopes The G20 Summit Can Help Recover The World Economy

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met US President Joe Biden, Monday, November 14 in Bali.

In the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, the two of them started the meeting by taking a photo together. Jokowi, who was wearing a black coat, greeted Biden who was wearing a dark blue suit.

"Welcome to Bali and welcome to Indonesia," said Jokowi, starting the meeting.

Jokowi appreciated Joe Biden's presence in the country. Moreover, his presence aims to attend the G20 Summit in Bali.

"I really appreciate President Biden's presence at the G20 Summit in Bali," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

President Jokowi hopes that from the G20 Summit activities which will start on Tuesday, November 15, there will be a lot of cooperation. So, countries can help each other in the midst of the current world conditions.

"Hopefully the G20 Summit can produce concrete cooperation, which can help the world in global economic recovery," said Jokowi, who was followed by Joe Biden's nod.

During the meeting, Jokowi was accompanied by a number of his ministers. They are Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi; Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir; Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto; to Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

For information, the G20 Summit will be held on November 15-16. This activity is the culmination of the presidency that has been held some time before.

In its implementation, Indonesia carries the theme 'Recover Together, Recover Stronger'. There are three issues that are raised, namely the global health architecture, digital transformation, and a sustainable energy transition.
