Acting Regional Secretary of Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Novita Foenay said the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture had proposed to the Minister of Agriculture to issue a free grossosis certificate on Semau Island. "According to the information we received from the Animal Disease Prevention Coordinator of the Animal Health Directorate, it has proposed to the Minister of Agriculture to issue a certificate that Semau Island has been free of grossosis," said Novota Foenay in Kupang, Antara, Friday, November 11. According to him, the Kupang Regency Government together with the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture have conducted an evaluation meeting on the handling of cases of brucellosis on Semau Island. Novita Foenay stated that this final evaluation meeting is the most important part of the entire series of basic data collection and sampling activities that have been carried out since 2018 until now. "The Kupang Regency Government is grateful for the contribution of all parties, especially the team from the Denpasar Veterinary Center while working on Semau Island for the dedication of time and energy to produce epidemiological and historical justification of Semau Free Brucellosis," said Novita Foenay. He said the community of breeders independently had prepared an flip-flops cage to expedite the inspection and vaccination process for field officers from the Kupang Regency Livestock Service. Meanwhile, the Sub-Coordinator for the Prevention of Animal Diseases, Directorate of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Siti Yulianti, stated that the release of brucellosis on Semau Island received special attention from the Government and became one of the national focuses. Novita Foenay said the evaluation process carried out by the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture on the case of brucellosis on Semau Island had entered the final stage, so it was immediately proposed to the Minister of Agriculture to issue a certificate of free grossosis on Semau Island, Kupang Regency, NTT.
