There Is A Laboratory For Detection Of Narcotics In East Kalimantan, DPRD: The Only One In Kalimantan

The East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Provincial DPRD appreciates the existence of a drug detection laboratory or new psychoactive submissions (NPS) in the area of the thousands of cities of Samarinda.

"This is a good step and we should be grateful for East Kalimantan to have a narcotics testing laboratory, psychotropics, precursors, other addictive materials containing narcotics, and this is the only one in Kalimantan," said a member of the East Kalimantan DPRD, Masykur Sarmian in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Thursday, November 10.

According to him, the existence of the laboratory is a good effort for the East Kalimantan Provincial Government to further prevent and combat the level of drug consumption in the community.

Moreover, the East Kalimantan DPRD is currently intensively socializing Regional Regulation number 7 of 2017 concerning Facilitation for the prevention of narcotics abuse.

In addition, the East Kalimantan DPRD took the initiative to prepare the 2022 Regional Regulation (Raperda) and public consultations had been carried out as an effort to carry out the mandate of the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 12 of 2019.

"The goal is to nominate the Draft Regional Regulation on the Prevention and Eradication of Narcotics Abuse and Dark Circulation (P4GN)," he said.

Masykur added that East Kalimantan is one of the areas where access is free and open so that the impact of drug trafficking is very vulnerable. "With this laboratory, it is a synergy with the East Kalimantan Regional Regulation on narcotics prevention," he said.
