Asking Regions to Immediately Realize APBD, Ministry of Home Affairs Urges Activities to Start Early in the Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) reminds local governments not to hesitate in carrying out activities and budgets in order to accelerate the realization of the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD).

"Regions should not hesitate to carry out activities that have been planned and have been determined," said the Ministry of Home Affairs' Director General (Dirjen) for Regional Finance (Keuda) Agus Fatoni in his statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday 9 November.

Moreover, he said, there was strong support from the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda), including from the government's internal supervisory apparatus (APIP) and law enforcement officials (APH).

Fatoni appealed that regions should start activities at the beginning of the year, so that people can immediately feel the impact of development.

In addition, the quality of public services can also improve immediately, so that it has an impact on the welfare of the community.

"So that money can circulate in the community and be spent immediately, the regional economy can move, the private sector is also provoked to spend the money," said Fatoni.

Fatoni also asked the regional government to accelerate activities and complete administrative and accountability reports, both physical and financial in each regional apparatus organization (OPD).

Despite accelerating activities, Fatoni still reminded the local government to adhere to the principles of prudence and prudence in realizing the budget.

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, reminded regions that they need to maximize their APBD to control regional inflation.

According to him, Forkompinda and related parties also need to provide assistance to the regions so that they do not hesitate to use APBD financial instruments.
