JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health is collaborating with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) to develop 16 medicinal raw materials that have been imported for domestic production. "We have identified 16 raw materials for drugs that dominate and have now started developing so that they are produced domestically," said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin at the Commission IX Working Meeting of the DPR RI which was attended online in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, November 8. The 16 medicinal raw materials in question include Paracetamol, Omeprazol, Klopidogrel, Atorvastatin, Bisoprolol, Candesartan, Amlodipine, Gefitinib, Imatinib, Sitattin, Entecavir, Lanzoprazol, DAgliflozin, Sugammadex, Ceftriaxone, and Cefixe. Specifically for raw materials for the drug Paracetamol, Omeprazol, Klopidogrel, Atorvastatin has been successfully produced domestically since 2017 and 2021. "Once it has been produced domestically, we make a change source, so the raw material for the drug if it changes from import to domestic must make changes to the source of the raw material for the medicine officially," he said. If the change source mechanism is carried out independently by drug manufacturers, said Budi, it generally takes a long process and time. For this reason, the Ministry of Health facilitates change source services to occur more quickly, so that pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia can buy domestic raw materials, from those that were originally imported. One example is Paracetamol, as a raw material for drugs with an import procurement rate of 99.9 percent in Indonesia in 2021. "Now we have started to build factories domestically. We expect imports of Paracetamol to drop to 19 percent from 99.9 percent," he said. In addition to Paracetamol, the Ministry of Health is also trying to reduce dependence on imports of pharmaceutical salt which will reach 100 percent in 2021 to 79.38 percent this year. "I see several domestic pharmaceutical salt companies, it is hoped that in 2023 we can reduce their imports to 18.39 percent," he said.
