19 Days Treated For COVID-19, Probolinggo Deputy Mayor Subri Died

JAKARTA - Deputy Mayor of Probolinggo, Mochammad Soufis Subri, died on Wednesday at around 06.30 WIB. He died after undergoing treatment in the isolation room of the Dr. Soetomo Hospital in Surabaya due to contracting COVID-19.

"Deputy Mayor of Probolinggo, Mochammad Soufis Subri, died on Wednesday at 06.30 WIB, after being treated for 19 days at Dr. Soetomo Hospital in Surabaya for COVID-19," said Head of the Communication and Informatics Office of the City of Probolinggo, Aman Suryaman, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 9. .

Mayor of Probolinggo Hadi Zainal Abidin heard the news that Deputy Mayor Subri had passed away from the Acting Director of RSUD Mohammad Saleh Dr. Abraar HS Kuddah on Wednesday morning.

"For the funeral plan in Kebonsari Kulon, we are preparing the burial location in coordination with three pillars," he said.

The ranks of the Probolinggo City Government employees are currently still waiting for the arrival of the body of Deputy Mayor Subri from RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya.

"We will pay our last respects at the municipal government office, to carry out the funeral prayers by implementing health protocols. At 11.00 WIB, we will depart for the grave of the extended family in Kebonsari Kulon," said the Mayor.

Deputy Mayor Mochammad Soufis Subri reportedly complained of fever and decreased appetite on November 11, 2020, after returning from an official trip in Bandung.

Subri then coughed and had a fever so he decided to consult with the Acting Director of RSUD Dr. Mohamad Saleh and underwent a thorax examination. The examination results that came out on November 18 showed that his thorax was normal.

On November 20, he complained of a fever that had not subsided and after undergoing an examination tested positive for COVID 19.

Subri then underwent treatment at the Dr. Mohamad Saleh Hospital. On November 22, he was referred to the Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya because his condition had deteriorated.

"All therapy has been given during treatment there, installation of a ventilator to ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) according to family approval," said Aman Suryaman.
