The Case Of West Pasaman DPRD Members Campaigning At Schools Raises Investigation

JAKARTA - Alleged violations of the 2020 Pilkada campaign in the school environment by a number of members of the West Pasaman Regency DPRD, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), have entered the investigation stage at the Gakkumdu Center.

"Based on the results of the investigation, the alleged case has been investigated and has been handled by the police," said the Commissioner for Bawaslu, the Legal Division for the Acting of Violations and Sangketa Beldia Putra at Simpang Empat, reported by Antara, Sunday, December 6.

The reported parties in this case were the initials PH, A, HM, M and Y who were suspected of carrying out campaigns in the school environment.

He said that the reported allegedly violated Law no. 1 of 2015 concerning the establishment of government regulations in lieu of Law No. 1 of 2014 concerning the election of governors, regents and mayors into law.

According to him, the reported party allegedly violated Article 183 paragraph 3, which reads that any person deliberately violates the prohibition against the implementation of the election campaign for regent / mayor as referred to in Article 69 letter gj of Law Number 8 of 2015.

Article i states using places of worship and places of education during campaigns.

"As for the criminal sanction is one month or a maximum of six months and / or a fine of at least Rp. 100,000 or a maximum of Rp. 1 million," he said.

The case handling process will be carried out in the next 14 days at the Gakkumdu Center.

Previously, the West Pasaman Bawaslu had summoned the reported party for clarification. After a joint review and meeting, the case is forwarded to the stage of investigation because it is already a criminal issue.
