Head of the North Jakarta Region II Education Sub-department, Purwanto, said that currently the teacher of the alleged perpetrator of intolerance at SMA Negeri 52 Jakarta has been banned from teaching for a while. The teacher's act of intolerance was to direct a number of teachers and students not to win candidates for non-Muslim chairmanship. "The teacher has been inactive since one or two days ago," said Purwanto when contacted, Friday, October 21. Purwanto said that this action was in line with the process of examining cases of suspected intolerance that were being handled by the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate and the DKI Jakarta Regional Personnel Agency (BKD). "Currently it is still in process and waiting. Meanwhile, the lesson (which is being carried by the teacher) is being handled by similar friends," said Purwanto. In the initial examination, there were four teachers involved. One teacher who previously served as Deputy Principal of Schools played an active role in directing the irregularity of one of the candidates in the election of the OSIS chairman. One other person plays a passive role because he only approves the words of the directing teacher. Meanwhile, the other two teachers were only in the same room and were not involved in the briefing. "Indeed, one is the most active initiator. So, in imposing sanctions, it must be classy (different according to the level of violation). The most active is the heaviest (the punishment). So, this must be investigated one by one," explained Purwanto. As is known, this act of intolerance was initially expressed by a member of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PDIP faction, Ima Mahdiah. In his Instagram account, Ima admitted that he received recorded conversations between teachers and students regarding the selection of the OSIS chairman. After going through several selections, 5 student candidates for the OSIS chairman were selected and one of them was non-Muslim. "In the recording, it is clear that the teacher said that the candidate for the non-Islamic OSIS chairman candidate should not pass because according to him it cannot be controlled later during the election," said Ima in the Ima.mahdiah Instagram account. When he visited the school, Ima got an answer from the teacher. The teacher with the initials E admitted that he was worried that if the candidate for the elected non-Muslim student council chairman, the OSIS program he was running would not be pro Islam. Ima did not accept this answer. Because, according to him, the public school teacher received a salary from the taxes of people who embraced various religions. "For this, I convey to the leadership of the PDI-P faction that the teacher should be fired, so that he is deterrent," said Ima.
