JAKARTA - Candidate for mayor of Makassar serial number 1 M Ramdhan 'Danny' Pomanto insinuates the vice mayor candidate number 2 Abdul Rahman Bando. Rahman Bando is said to have claimed the success of what was actually a program created by Danny Pomanto during his tenure as mayor of Makassar.

He said, when there was a good program in Makassar, it was claimed by Rahman Bando. However, the turn of the program was bad, it was delegated to him.

“Actually, Pak Rahman Bando's answer doesn't connect with the panelist's question. What was asked earlier, 'free here, free here', what about poverty, because the free PAD decreases, then employment opportunities and money supply decrease, ultimately triggering poverty. The beginning of Danny Pomanto's quip back to Rahman Bando was related to the panelist's question, which was conveyed through the moderator regarding poverty reduction. Panelists said the 'free is free' policy is only overcoming poverty on the surface. This question was then answered by candidate pair number 2 Munafri Arifuddin-Abdul Rahman Bando (Appi-Rahman).

"Before the pandemic there were 60 thousand poor people, therefore data collection is important. When I was the head of the marine affairs, agricultural fisheries, and livestock office, I have proven steps to reduce poverty in my Tuposki area, "he said.

"We have instituted data collection, we provide education on training to manage the group. We train us to certify, we apprentice, we return with the tools needed for empowerment efforts," added Rahman Bando, who once held a position in the Makassar city government when Danny Pomanto was mayor.

Meanwhile, candidate pair number 3 Syamsu Rizal-Fadli Ananda (DILAN) said poverty reduction must start from data collection. From there it can be mapped patterns of effective treatment.

"The first thing we do is to re-investigate how many poor people are in Makassar, how many are entitled to government treatment, how many are entitled to a Prosperous Indonesia Card. Because there are people who do not have the right but can, this is what causes social cohesion to be broken so we carry out empowering and enabling strategies after all the data is complete, ”said Syamsu Rizal who is familiarly called Deng Ical.
