Police Forms Special Team To Chase Mastermind Azan Berlafaz Jihad

JAKARTA - The police continue to investigate the case of the call to prayer calling for jihad. Namely by replacing 'hayya alal solah' to 'hayya alal jihad'. The police are currently investigating the mastermind behind this action.

"Investigators from the West Java Regional Police and investigators from the Majalengka Police will investigate who disseminated it and who ordered it. This is a special concern of the West Java Regional Police," said Head of West Java Regional Police Head Commissioner Erdi A. Chaniago in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Friday, 4 December.

According to him, a group of people in Majalengka Regency called for the call to prayer, the contents of which were changed from the word 'hayya alal shalaah' to 'hayya alal jihad'. Erdi said this was quite unsettling for the community.

In this case, according to him, the police have also formed a special team to hunt down the mastermind who invites the call to prayer for jihad. According to him, it is also strange because it happened simultaneously in various regions, including West Java.

"This is being explored again because what we are worried about in one day, yes, is in West Java and other areas," he said.

The police also, he said, had examined seven people in Majalengka. They are suspected of being involved in the video recording calling for the jihad call to prayer. The video is spread on social media with a duration of 43 seconds.

"So those who do the call to prayer have been interrogated and now the Majalengka Police have also studied it," said Erdi.

He also could not mention the motive involved in the making of the video for the call to prayer. However, in the near future, he confirmed that the police would soon reveal the mastermind behind the call to call to prayer for jihad.

"So please be patient, hopefully in the near future the West Java Police will uncover this case," he said.
