Moeldoko Invited To Inject COVID-19 Vaccine, AA Gym: If There Is A Halal Certificate, What Is It Against Me?

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko invited the famous preacher Abdullah Gymnastiar or Aa Gym to take part in the first injection of the COVID-19 vaccine.

"I hope he can (participate in the vaccine injection)," said Moeldoko at the Daarut Tauhid Eco Islamic Boarding School, West Bandung Regency, West Java, as reported by Antara, Friday, December 4.

In carrying out the injection of the COVID-19 vaccine, he hopes that community leaders will also follow this. So, he said, the public can be sure that there is no problem with the vaccine.

"We hope there will be figures. Later, I imagine that later from the government, and from the figures, they can come together to run the first vaccine, so that the public will be more confident," he said.

In addition, during this time of increasing COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, he hopes that religious leaders can again loudly voice the importance of health protocols. The reason is, he assessed that the increase in cases was due to the people who were starting to neglect.

"There is a tendency for the people now to start to ignore, right, we are worried, the people are starting to ignore, the officers are getting bored, this is a danger," said Moeldoko.

Meanwhile, Aa Gym invites all community leaders to compete with each other to be a good example to society during this pandemic.

Regarding the injection of the vaccine, Aa Gym said he was ready to be injected as long as the vaccine was declared halal. By giving that example, he believes that all elements of the nation can become more compact.

"If there is a halal certificate, what will be inconvenient for me?" said Aa Gym.
