Update On COVID-19 As Of December 4: New Cases Of 5,803, Accumulated Cases Of 563,680

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 59,363 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,803 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 593,680 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, December 4.

Today's cases increased by 3,625, so that a total of 466,178 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 124 people and a total of 17,479 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,032 new cases and a total of 141,270 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 992 new cases with a total of 56,799 cases. Central Java has 891 new cases and a total of 59,228 cases. Then, East Java has 564 new cases and a total of 63,901 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 953 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 379 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 338 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 333 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Central Kalimantan.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 5,926,986. In detail, as many as 5,821,907 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 105,079 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.1 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 69,016 people. Currently, 507 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
