JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah hopes that the Employment Social Security Administration (Jamsostek) supports affordable housing for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) through the Additional Service Benefits (MLT) scheme. "If PMI becomes a participant in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, then there is a program called the Benefits of Additional Services or MLT. MLT can be used for houses," said Ida in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Antara, Monday, October 17. According to Ida, PMI can also access the MLT scheme if it has become a participant in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Therefore, he suggested that the Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani could encourage the form of cooperation for the procurement of affordable housing for these migrant workers. "So it's not only the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). It's the government, but we also encourage them to have new additional benefits from their participation in BPJS Employment," said Ida. The distribution of MLT is currently being carried out by BP Jamsostek in collaboration with Bank BTN, which has also been committed to the procurement of houses. Head of BP2MI Benny Rhamdani revealed that his party is processing a scheme for cheap housing programs for migrant workers in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). Benny said the discussion was being carried out intensively with the Ministry of PUPR. However, the advice from the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah can also be followed up to realize cheap houses for Indonesian migrant workers. "Pray for this plan to be realized soon, God willing, this can be used because Jamsostek or BPJS TK has Additional Service Benefits, which may be shifted to help PMI get a home," said Benny.
