JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli revealed that his party proposed to the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy to form a special task force (Satgas) to handle layoffs (PHK) that have occurred in recent times.

"We have raised the issue of layoffs to the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy to form a Task Force together. This is just a proposal," Yassierli said when met after opening the Social Security Summit 2024 activities in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, November 26.

The Minister of Manpower revealed that the proposal will be discussed again in a meeting with the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy. While being asked about the provincial minimum wage (UMP) he revealed, he will complete the wage formulation at the end of this month.

"Finally this month the formulation will come out," he said.

He admitted, until now the finalization process for wage formulation is still being carried out after he faces the Head of State and gets several directions. After the finalization is complete, he said, the final formulation of the 2025 wage will be announced soon.

"So let us formulate according to his direction (President Prabowo Subianto) after that we will face him for the last time after that we will issue ministerial regulations to the governor," concluded the Minister of Manpower.

Previously, the Minister of Manpower gave a signal and fresh air for workers regarding the UMP in 2025 which would certainly increase.

According to him, it is impossible for the UMP to be lowered because the government is focused on helping workers who have low income get a decent wage. "Yes, yes (up), don't go up," said Yassierli, Wednesday (6/11).

In general, he did not want to reveal how much the minimum wage increase would be, but he ensured that all parties involved related to labor wages had been invited to discuss and collaborate to find the right formulation.
