SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Social Service (Dinsos) stated that at least 23,532 residents who domiciled or live in the local area are included in the extreme poverty data.

Head of Surabaya City Social Service, Anna Fajriatin, said the data was known from the results of data matching through population administration, namely identity cards (KTP) and family cards (KK) with conditions on the ground.

"This data matching is to provide assistance to residents who stay or live in Surabaya city," Anna said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 16.

According to her, her party matched the data with data on low-income people (MBR), as well as through the Cek-In application of Surabaya residents.

"Is this person in Surabaya or is it really domiciled in Surabaya? Now, from that data, we will match. Because that will be the basis for intervention for extreme poverty alleviation in Surabaya and for intervention in 2023 related to all programs in the city government," said Anna.

As for the process of providing assistance, Anna explained, this will be regulated in the Mayor's Regulation (Perwali MBR) which is currently being designed by the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, to be adjusted to the Governor Regulation (Pergub) and the Central Government.

In the MBR Perwali, she continued, there will be any criteria referred to as the category of poor families.

"There is a Perwali which also underlies that this data is the basis for providing all programs (assistance) that will be provided by the city government. Therefore, the mayor always conveys to be checked again, meaning whether the residents really moved or not," she said.

Anna admitted that if there were residents of the Surabaya ID card who received assistance, but did not live in the city of Surabaya, it triggered social jealousy in their environment.

This also applies to residents who have not renewed their work status in the ID card column.

"If his work status has not changed, which previously was written that he had not worked, he would continue to get assistance. It could harm him, for example, the Neighborhood unit head came to his house to give social assistance, but there is no data, the assistance could be transferred to other residents," she said.

Previously, the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, found that thousands of residents with ID cards and Surabaya City families were not living or domiciled in the City of Heroes.

This is based on data matching with conditions in the field carried out by the sub-district head, the village head by involving RT/RW, the Village Community Empowerment Institution (LPMK), and the Great Surabaya Cadre (KSH).

"When this data is the same between the KTP and those in the field, the Surabaya APBD budget related to intervention will be right on target," he said.
