JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Youth and Children of the Indonesian Bethel Church, Papua Province, IsacI, requested that Lukas Enembe as a leader be ready to face the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigation regarding cases of alleged bribery and gratification.

"It's not even avoiding it by building far-fetched opinions, such as asking the KPK to examine Lukas in an open field," Isac said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday.

He questioned the inauguration of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe as the head of a large ethnic group in Papua by the Papua Customary Council (DAP) led by Dominikus Sorabut on October 8, 2022, which he said was not in accordance with the DAP statutes.

"In the DAP statutes and the operational guidelines of the DAP do not recognize the term confirmation of the head of the Papuan people, what exists is the position of head of the tribe passed down from generation to generation in tribes in Papua," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Isac, who also serves as Deputy Chair of the Young Generation of Indonesian Newcomers (Gempar) of Papua Province, said that the inauguration of the head of the big tribes in Papua was wrong and unreasonable.

"Because above the tribal chief there is only God. There are no more tribal chiefs above the tribal chief," he said.

He assessed that the DAP led by Dominikus Sorabut, which has confirmed Lukas Enembe as the head of the big tribe, had disappointed the tribes, tribal chiefs, and the Papuan people because he suspected that certain interests were behind the inauguration.

"DAP has two versions, namely the DAP led by Dominikus Sorabut and the DAP which has legitimacy, namely the DAP led by Yan Piet Yerangga and Leo Im Castra," he said.

He invited the younger generation of Papua to take lessons from the current developing situation in Papua, including the corruption case being faced by Lukas Enembe.

"Corruption must be eradicated from Earth of Cenderawasih. Papua in the future must have leaders who are completely free from corruption," said Isac.
