The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa was firm on the negligence of soldiers when using weapons. "Not only criminal (only), but there must also be (disciplinary) sanctions," Andika Perkasa said on his YouTube channel being monitored in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, October 14. Andika said this when chairing a meeting with the TNI Legal Team and the Military Police Center ranks from the Army, Navy and Air Force. All developments in the latest cases involving TNI soldiers were reported to Andika during the meeting. It aims to make the entire legal process run properly under supervision. One of the cases discussed was related to negligence in the use of weapons by one of the personnel while on duty in the Cendrawasih Kodam area. The negligence of the soldier caused the loss of a person's life so that it became a criminal case. Andika also asked for the development of the case to continue to be monitored and ordered its staff to impose sanctions on personnel who committed negligence. In addition to criminal sanctions from the Criminal Code, Andika also ordered disciplinary sanctions in accordance with applicable military law. "Investigation has been carried out and this is purely the negligence of soldiers in the use of weapons, there must be legal sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations," he said. Previously, Andika had also stated that criminal cases, which occurred within the TNI and caused the loss of another person's life, were a priority to be resolved according to applicable legal procedures. "It is our special concern and priority in the TNI, cases of criminal law that result in the loss of another person's life," said Andika Perkasa.
