Victims Of Sexual Violence In Kalideres Get Psychological Assistance

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta City Government (Jakbar) provides psychological and legal assistance to children suspected of being victims of sexual violence in a empang in Kalideres, West Jakarta.

"We are trying to find the child so that we can provide psychological assistance and maybe legal assistance," said Head of the West Jakarta Child Protection and Population Control Empowerment Sub-department, Sikah Winarni quoting Antara, Tuesday, October 11.

His party has sent officers from the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) to inspect the location.

In addition, officers in the field will also find out the whereabouts of the child who was the victim of the abuse.

"For victims, they can also go to the nearest P2TP2A officers so that we can provide protection and assistance," he said.

Investigators from the Kalideres Police, West Jakarta, have checked the location of the alleged place of sexual violence.

"We ask for information from local residents such as Mr. RT, from the security forces of hospitals and people around here," said Head of the Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Subartoyo at the location.

He also plans to check the hospital's CCTV camera footage that leads to the empang. He hopes the effort can help investigators reveal the perpetrators of sexual violence.

The location of the empang is right next to a hospital. The location of the empang is only about 100 meters from the highway.

To enter the empang, residents must pass a path in the form of a soft soil and loose because it is mixed with water. The winding path leads residents to the empang which is estimated to be 5 x 10 meters wide.

The empang is also expected to be shallow, only 20 to 30 centimeters deep. No houses were seen around the empang.

The empang position was closed by dozens of banana trees, swamps and high walls that separate the hospital land.

Previously, the recording of the alleged sexual violence had gone viral on social media after the 36-second video was uploaded by someone on the Instagram account @wargajakarta.id

In the video, one boy and a adult male can be seen having sexual activity in the middle of the empang and is thought to have occurred on Sunday (9/10). The activity was recorded by someone from the top floor of the hospital.
