ACEH - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the number of refugees due to flooding in East Aceh Regency was 2,436 people.

Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that most of the residents took refuge in Balai Dusun, Meunasah, Mosques, and Dayah.

"Temporary information, there were 1,276 families (KK) or 4,764 affected people and 1,276 houses inundated. This information was reported by the BNPB Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) based on data from the East Aceh Regency BPBD", Abdul said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday, August 9.

The six sub-districts in East Aceh, Aceh Province, which were hit by floods were Pante Bidari, Punaron, Birem Bayeun, Indra Makmur, Nurussalam, and Banda Alam sub-districts.
