Agus Yudhoyono's Story Anies Baswedan Who Has Followed The Democratic Presidential Candidate Convention

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) is happy to be visited by DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. He hopes that today's meeting can bring Anies closer to the big family of the Democratic Party.

"We are really happy to be able to stay in touch with Mas Anies in person. Personally, I also convey that Mas Anies' arrival is also getting closer to him. I said earlier that he was getting closer to the big family of the Democratic Party," AHY said at a press conference at the PD office, Central Jakarta, Friday, October 7.AHY then brought up that Anies had attended the PD presidential candidate convention in 2013-2014 ago. "He himself was one of the participants in the convention of the Democratic Party presidential candidate in 2013 -2014 ago," said AHY.

Not recently, AHY revealed, his friendship with Anies has been around for a long time. In fact, he said, it was already established when he was still a TNI soldier, and Anies was still an academic.

After that, continued AHY, he was reunited with Anies in the 2017 DKI gubernatorial election. According to him, the democracy contestation did not change the closeness of their relationship.

"That's the beauty of our friendship, it didn't crack a bit due to a competition. Even vice versa, after the gubernatorial election ended, we got closer in building the nation's vision and mission in the future," said AHY.

AHY also admitted that he often met Anies on various occasions without the public knowing. According to him, he has a common vision with Anies to bring change to the Motherland.

"In these various meetings, we certainly build a strong spirit to bring about change and improvement in this country," AHY said.
