Kemenpan RB Promises To Transfer ASN To IKN Without Coercion

YOGYAKARTA - The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) is finalizing an assessment for the plan to relocate the state civil apparatus to the national capital (IKN) of the Nusantara, which is expected not to be carried out by force.

"We are conducting an assessment regarding this matter. However, the total number of state civil servants (ASN) that will be transferred cannot be conveyed yet," said Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Azwar Anas on the sidelines of a visit to the Yogyakarta City Government, on October 6th.

In addition to conducting assessments, he continued, the Kemenpan RB also received orders from President Joko Widodo to prepare several scenarios related to the transfer and digitization of ASN at IKN Nusantara.

"We are perfecting this. There are several scenarios, starting from 20,000 ASN, 60,000, and 100,000. What is certain is gradual," he said.

In the transfer process, Azwar said, the ministry will offer various interesting things that ASN can enjoy, especially environmental conditions that will later be better and more comfortable.

For example, complete and adequate supporting facilities, such as the best hospitals, excellent schools from kindergarten to college, fresh air without pollution, no congestion, and wider electrification.

According to him, living and working conditions that are more comfortable and organized with a beautiful environment will be everyone's dream.

"With an attractive and comfortable environment, of course, we hope that there will be no coercion to move to IKN. The hope is like that," he said.
