The Deputy Governor Of DKI Calls The Design Of A Roundabout HI Bus Stop Planned By Matang: Not Like A Gunung Image Children

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria emphasized that the revitalization of the Transjakarta Roundabout HI Bus Stop has gone through careful design planning even though it is now considered to cover up the view of the Welcome Statue.

"The design has been prepared long ago. The design painting is not like a child drawing a mountain. The design has a calculation, the structure, the artistic, everything has a calculation," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, October 4.

So, Riza continued, the HI Roundabout Bus Stop will not experience a design change even though there have been many protests, from historians to members of the DKI DPRD. Likewise with the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan who said that the revitalization of the bus stop continued.

"We shouldn't go too far for grand design changes. It's far from the previous year that we were designed. The process is long," said Riza.

Even so, Riza admitted that he would ask Transjakarta to solve the problem. "I will ask again the details to Transjakarta to what extent the process is, what is the problem, what are the shortcomings, later we will complete them together, we will fix how to explain to the public about perceptions, allegations that are considered hindered," he continued.

For information, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, will summon the BUMD PT Transjakarta to discuss the revitalization of the HI Roundabout Bus Stop which is being questioned because it is considered to have closed his eyes towards the Welcome Statue.

"As the head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD, I will summon PT Transjakarta and related SKPD to explain the implementation of the revitalization of the Transjakarta bus stop, which in fact has disappointed many parties," said Prasetyo.

The Welcome Statue at the HI Roundabout is one of President Soekarno's works. Prasetyo said that the statue of a pair of humans holding flowers and waving hands was not just a display. But more to that Indonesia deserves to be reckoned with in the world with its readiness to hold a 4th Asian sporting event.

With this high historical value, the PDIP politician views that the revitalization of the Transjakarta Bus Stop does not deserve to prevent it.

"Bung Karno once advised 'Never leave history!'. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government should take good care of the advice in the implementation of development, including the revitalization of the Transjakarta Bundaran HI bus stop," he said.

Previously, Jakarta historian JJ Rizal had a problem with the construction of the revitalization of the Transjakarta Bus Stop in the HI Roundabout which blocked the view towards the Welcome Statue.

According to JJ Rizal, the Welcome Statue has a high historical value. He explained that the statue at the HI Roundabout was the work of President Soekarno with Governor Henk Ntak and maestro host Edhi Sunarso.

" Transjakarta should respect the historical area, not even compete with Bung Karno as an architect who works with Abel Sorensen, a maestro who is a statue artist, and Governor Henk Don't depend on him. It's not appropriate to compete with them," said JJ Rizal.

Separately, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Restoration Session Team (TSP) Boy Bhirawa revealed that the revitalization of the HI Roundabout Transjakarta Bus Stop violated cultural heritage conservation procedures.

Adapun kawasan Bundaran HI yang ditetapkan sebagai ODCB adalah Patung Selamat, airguman, dan jalan di sekitarnya. Meski masih berstatus diduga cagar budaya, kawasan Bundaran HI tetap harus diperlakukan cagar budaya.

"The restoration area of the cultural heritage belongs to the public, it belongs to the real citizens of the city. Important areas that have indications of historicality or meaning in the city must remain in their position. So, it should not be covered up or damaged," said Boy.

This problem made the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, furious. Prasetyo will summon Transjakarta at a DPRD meeting to ask for clarification on the alleged slowdown in the procedure.
