Prabowo Subianto Get Papera Support To Advance Presidential Candidate 2024

JAKARTA - The merchant community from 29 regencies/cities in Papua Province that are members of the Indonesian Greater Fighters Traders or Papera has declared support for the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

"We believe that Mr. Prabowo can continue President Jokowi's program for development in the Papua region. Moreover, he has led an organization that defended the interests of market traders a few years ago," said Papuan Regional Paper Volunteer Erdi Dabi as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 1.

He assessed that Prabowo is the most worthy and able to continue the people's programs in Papua, especially the acceleration of the development of Trans Papua infrastructure which greatly impacts the provision of basic community needs at affordable prices.

"We also value Prabowo as a very committed to the fate of market traders and we believe that the infrastructure development of the Trans Papua route will continue to help reduce prices for basic necessities in Papua, especially in mountainous areas," he emphasized.

Erdi said that currently the price of basic necessities in Eastern Indonesia, especially in Papua and West Papua, has not been evenly distributed. For this reason, market traders in Papua believe that only Prabowo Subianto can commit to guarding President Jokowi's interests in accelerating the completion of the Trans Papua road in order to cut logistics costs.

Access restrictions towards several areas in Papua have become one of the problems of expensive logistics costs, leading to high prices for basic needs.

"This makes the price of goods tend to be more expensive. If the Trans Papua land route is open properly, the community can minimize the logistics costs incurred and social justice in Papua can be realized, especially in mountainous areas. We believe Pak Prabowo can solve it," he hoped.
