KARAWANG - The Environment and Hygiene Service of Karawang Regency, West Java is investigating the fertilizer coloring waste that polluted the Cilamaran River, Palumbonsari Village, East Karawang District, Karawang. The Head of the Implementation of Environmental Regulations of the Karawang Regency Agency, Meli Rahmawati, said that after receiving information about the existence of pollution, her party immediately went to the location. The waste that polluted the Cilamaran River came from the washing of drums containing chemical dyes used to color fertilizers. "From his statement, it is a color that is usually used for fertilizer," he said in Karawang, Antara, Friday, September 30. Meli revealed that his party had taken samples from river water and dyes in the drums for laboratory tests. Meanwhile, fertilizer coloring chemical waste was discovered to have polluted the Cilamaran River on Friday. The condition of the river flow suddenly turned red. The Department of Environment and Hygiene, Karawang Police and the Citarum Sector 19 Task Force had previously traced the origin of the polluting waste.
