JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) asked that tickets to enter Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) remain affordable and not expensive for the community after the arrangement was carried out.

Expert Staff to the Minister for the Integrated Development of the Ministry of PUPR, Achmad Gani Ghazaly Akman, admitted that until now the entrance ticket price for TMII has not been calculated.

"But it seems that because (the arrangement) using the APBN tariff is still the same. It's not expensive," said Gani in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 28, as reported by Antara.

The TMII area is currently not open to the community because it is waiting for the completion of the G20 event. The opening for the community itself will be carried out in stages.

Gani also said that there would likely be a program from TWC as the manager of TMII.

On the same occasion, Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Lasarus said that the priority thing that must be prioritized is how to TMII after the G20 event.

"This place used to be crowded and attracting a lot of people," said Lasarus.

Commission V of the DPR RI has conveyed to the TMII manager, lest it be repeated with plans to increase the entrance ticket price like Borobudur which is difficult for the public to reach.

Commission V of the DPR RI reminded that TMII development and arrangement activities use APBN funds.

"The need, at least not enough to carry out maintenance. This is a public area, we are not making too big a profit here. Let the people enjoy it," said Lasarus.

Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo hoped that TMII after being renovated would become a Mini Indonesia Park for domestic public tourism destinations as well as foreign tourists.

The President also advised that the rates should not be expensive, the people must still be able to enjoy TMII.

The arrangement and revitalization of infrastructure in the TMII area is mainly in preparation for the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 Summit, November as well as improving TMII services as people's tourist destinations since the 1970s.
