JAKARTA - Head of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) Police, Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi, continues to prepare security for the G20 Summit presidency to be held in Bali. This security operation will later become a centralized operation that will involve many stakeholders.

"The National Police Chief has given directions, that this operation is regional, now it is pulled into a centralized operation. This means that he sees a much greater potential for readiness that we must carry out so that we can lift this organizational structure into a centralized operation", said Firman in a written statement, Tuesday, September 27.

Firman said that this operation was prepared from preventive activities such as guarding, regulation, and backing up contingency activities to disaster management. Everything will be guarded to provide comfort and security without any fear in the community.

In addition, in this security, the Police will use technology, namely electric vehicles, both 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled. The use of ETLE in a coordinated and collaborative manner using cameras in Bali is also carried out to be able to monitor each area.

"This is a big step in handling one traffic, being able to use these cameras in many ways. With trip monitoring, we can see traffic conditions affected by the engineering of the activities carried out", he said.

For the number of security personnel, continued Firman, there is already a standard operating procedure (SOP) for both regular security and VVIP guests.

The National Police have started conducting joint training with Paspampres (presidential security forces) to find out how to act in carrying out escorts.

"We have surveyed as in previous activities that have been carried out, how many personnel must be involved at these points and all of them are optimized for the smooth flow of traffic together so that the community does not feel disturbed", he said.

Firman explained several things that stand out that may be faced that several roads are not wide enough in Bali. Therefore, he appealed to the surrounding community not to park their vehicles on the side of the road on certain dates.

"Roads that cannot be carried out in two direct opposite lanes will be temporarily closed so they are open and closed in certain roads", he said.

In terms of security, his party will involve the community and the local government to smooth traffic during the G20 Summit activities, starting from the airport, and venue to where the head or head of state is staying.

"In this case, we give priority and do not sacrifice the community but invite G20 guests to be comfortable in carrying out these activities", he said.
