West Sumatra LKAAM Appreciation For Solok City Government Efforts To Determinate Traditional Sislek

JAKARTA - The West Sumatra Minangkabau Natural Meeting Institute (LKAAM) appreciates the efforts of the Solok City Government (Pemkot) in preserving traditional lex in the area known as the Serambi City of Medina.

We really appreciate the efforts of the Solok City government in preserving traditional liquefies. One of them has included in the series of Rang Solok Baralek Gadang events," said West Sumatra LKAAM Head Fauzi Bahar Dt Nan Sati, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

This was conveyed by Fauzi Bahar when delivering his remarks at the traditional liquefied festival which was held in order to enliven Rang Solok Baralek Gadang.

Furthermore, Fauzi said that future traditional liquefies must be preserved and reintroduced to the younger generation so that they do not just disappear.

"74 silek flows in Minangkabau that must be passed on to our children and grandchildren. Even if you look at the past history of defending independence, it was the shorts and shorts. Before there were known political parties," he said.

He hopes that in the future there will be a next generation of Chinese culture. So that Chinese New Year will always exist in line with the times.

In addition, the Mayor of Solok Zul Elfian Umar said that the purpose of raising the traditional liquefied was one of the shows in the series of solok Baralek gadang events to preserve local culture.

In addition to traditional gatherings, various traditional arts activities, the game of nagari children to bazaars have been present to entertain the public and tourists to enliven the solok baralek gadang which will be held from 22 to 25 September 2022 in Solok City, West Sumatra.

The opening of the Rang Solok Baralek Gadang (Solok people titled the big party) begins with the Batulak Bala procession (rejecting reinforcements) which is a traditional ritual that has existed for generations in Solok City.

This tradition is usually done before the planting season. Hundreds of farmers and the community will go down to the fields with a chanting of remembrance and prayers. The goal is for people's crops to survive the pest of disease and produce abundant harvests.

Furthermore, Zul said that the Rang Solok Baralek Gadang event was a form of the Solok City community event to welcome abundant harvests.

Especially welcoming the rice harvest, which is the main agricultural product in the area nicknamed Serambi City, Medina.
