Lae-Lae Island Reclamation In Makassar Immediately Carried Out

MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi Provincial Government stated that the reclamation of Lae-Lae Island in Makassar as a replacement for a 12.11-hectare land from the manager of PT Yasmin to the South Sulawesi Provincial Government will be carried out in the near future.

"This reclamation is targeted for completion before the end of the term of office of the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman," said the Regional Secretary of the Province of South Sulawesi Abdul Hayat Gani as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 21.

For the implementation of the Lae-Lae reclamation, the Provincial Government is still waiting for a study conducted by PT Yasmin as the person in charge of the reclamation activity.

The study was conducted because the Lae-lae reclamation will be used for the benefit of the community, and this will become a new tourist destination in South Sulawesi.

"We are still waiting for the study. While testing the place for the benefit of the public. If so, there will be a new economy there. Imagine if Lae-lae has a new economy. There is Jimbaran Bali there, take boats back and forth. This is a tourist destination we encourage to explore the economic growth," he said.

According to him, this plan has been discussed for a long time and is expected to be implemented soon and its implementation will be controlled every two weeks.

Present at the meeting were the Head of the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) of South Sulawesi, PT Yasmin, the Port Authority, PT Pelindo, the South Sulawesi PUTR Service, the South Sulawesi Environmental Management Service (DPLH), the South Sulawesi Legal Bureau, and a number of other relevant agencies.
