COVID-19 Update as of September 21: New Cases of 2,384, Healing Increases by 2,991

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 70,320 specimens were examined with the result that there were 2,384 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,415,328 people and active cases have fallen by 625 to 25,410 cases", said the data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Wednesday, September 21.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 2,991 people, bringing the total to 6,231,970 recovered. Then, the number of positive confirmed cases who died increased by 18 cases and the total was 157,948 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 974 cases and a total of 1,419,552 cases. Followed by West Java with 450 new cases with a total of 1,177,143 cases. East Java with 231 new cases and a total of 603,479 cases. Banten with 231 new cases and a total of 335,776 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 813 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 800 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 746 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 209 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 108,151,698.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 7.80 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,217 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,388,537 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,997,002 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 62,879,386 and the fourth dose was 566,853. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
