JK Remembers The Late Azyumardi Azra's Writings Found In Many Books

JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice President (Vice President) of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) said that the Chairman of the Press Council, Prof. Azyumardi Azra has contributed a lot to writing books on Islamic thought in Indonesia.

"He wrote a lot of books, I think from the number of academics in expressing Islamic thoughts the most," said JK after welcoming the body's arrival at the Human Remains Transit Lounge Building Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 20.

According to him, the figure of Azyumardi is also a reliable academic and has left many services by pouring his thoughts through books and media.

In addition, the contribution of the UIN Professor through his writings can be concluded to have had a major influence on social life in Indonesia.

"So his thoughts are very influential in our social life," he said.

JK conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family for the death of the deceased.

"I offer my deepest condolences for the death of the late Prof. Azyumardi," said JK.

Previously, Jusuf Kalla and Minister of State Secretary (Mensetneg) Pratikno, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki, and the bereaved family were present to welcome the arrival of Prof.'s body. Azyumardi Azra at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten, Monday, September 19 evening.

Upon arrival at the airport, the body was immediately handed over from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) at 23.45 WIB.

Furthermore, the deceased's body was transferred to an ambulance which was prepared to take it to the funeral home in the East Ciputat area, South Tangerang.
