MUI Issues Fatwa On Registration Of Early Age Hajj, The Law Is Mubah

JAKARTA - The results of the Xth National Conference (Munas) of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued five fatwas, one of which was regarding Hajj registration at an early age.

The results of the fatwa were read out by the spokesman for the fatwa trial Asrorun Niam Sholeh at the plenary session on Thursday, November 26 evening with two legal provisions.

"The first provision is that registering Hajj at an early age to get a portion of the legal pilgrimage may (change) with several conditions," he said in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, November 27.

First, the money used to register for Haj is obtained in a lawful manner. Second, it does not interfere with other costs that must be met.

Third, he continued, did not violate the provisions of laws and regulations. Does not hinder the implementation of the hajj for mukallaf who already have the obligation 'ala al-faur and have registered.

"The law of registering Hajj at an early age that does not meet the requirements mentioned in number one is haram," he said.

The five fatwas resulting from the MUI munas are fatwas on the use of human diploid cells for drug and vaccine production materials, fatwas on Hajj registration at an early age, fatwa on wearing masks for people who are Ihram, fatwa on paying the initial deposit of Hajj with debt and financing and finally a fatwa on postponement. Hajj registration for those who can afford it.

Regarding the series of events for the Xth MUI National Conference, Chairman of the MUI X Munas Steering Committee KH Abdullah Jaidi said the X MUI national meeting had a number of agendas, one of which was choosing the General Chairperson of the MUI for the 2020-2025 period on Thursday night.

"The formation team will be elected tonight, then tonight they will also have a trial, electing the Daily Leadership Council and the MUI Advisory Council which will then announce the results tonight," he said.
