The KPK Recommends The Paser Regency Government For Swallow Breeders For Regional Original Revenue Genjots

PASER - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) advises the Paser Regency Government to collect data on swallow nest breeders to maximize the potential of Regional Original Revenue (PAD).

"According to the KPK's request, local governments are required to record each swallow building by calculating its area and owner. The KPK asks for the walet nest permit base data," said Head of the Paser Totok Ifrianto Regency Investment Service (DPMPTSP) in Tanah Grogot, quoted from Antara, Monday 19 September.

To follow up on this, DPMPTSP Paser will coordinate with the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service. The plan is that in October 2022, the KPK will prepare a plan for controlling swallow nests throughout the province of East Kalimantan.

"Later there will be an action plan from the KPK, several agencies will be invited, estimated in October," said Totok.

He said the effort was made in order to optimize the revenue of regional income from the swallow nest business.

According to him, the action plan will reveal what recommendations must be made by the Paser Regency Government. The hope is that the potential for regional income from the swallow nest business will not be lost.

So far, he said, the Paser Regency Government has had difficulty identifying tax revenues from the swallow nest business because there is no formulation or provision that regulates it.

"Because reports of swallow nest business revenues so far depend on the reports of entrepreneurs," he said.

Totok said that actually in the Balikpapan agricultural quarantine, it could be known who owns the swallow nest in Paser and whether they have paid taxes.

He said, when passing through quarantine, it can be checked and it is known who the item belongs to, and whether it has paid taxes. Then it can be seen whether there are recommendations from the farm. From there it can actually be known.

However, said Totok, because the Balikpapan quarantine party did not have the authority to check the swallow's nest tax, this could not be done.

Totok revealed that it was planned that the Paser Regency Government would cooperate with quarantine parties to overcome the problem.

"However, the KPK's advice, rather than later cooperation in violating the provisions and regulations, it would be better if an action plan was carried out to overcome this problem," he said.
