Brigadier General Prasetijo Promises The Children Asked For Joko Tjandra's Wife's Letter: 'You'll Get It Later'

JAKARTA - Witness in the case of alleged gratification for the removal of red notice, Brigadier Junjungan Fortes, said that Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo had promised something. This promise is a form of reward after completing the writing of a letter on behalf of Anna Boentaran, who is Joko Tjandra's wife.

"When he was summoned for the second time, he (Prasetijo) said that the letter I wrote had been forwarded. (Imitating Prasetijo) 'You will get it later'," said Fortes in a trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Thursday, November 26.

Even though he did not understand something that Prasetijo had promised, Fortes suspected that the context of the statement was believed to be about money. Because, Prasetijo had mentioned Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte who was said to have received a lot.

"You get a lot of Kadiv," said Fortes.

But Fortes insists that until now he has never received something promised. In fact, he also never asked it.

"Until now, it has not been given," said Fortes.

Previously, Fortes said that he received orders from Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo to write a letter on behalf of Anna Boentaran, Joko Tjandra's wife, which was addressed to Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte as Head of International Relations Division (Hubinter).

"He (Brigadier General Prasetijo) ordered me to write a letter from civilians to Kadiv Hubinter," Fortes said at the hearing.

Brigadier General Prasetijo, said Fortes, ordered him by telephone, on April 9, 2020. The contents of the letter stated that Joko Tjandra was innocent.

In this case, Joko Tjandra was charged with violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to the Law. Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption in jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st KUHP Jo. Article 65 paragraph (1) and (2) KUHP.
