Continuing to Coordinate with Pertamina and BPH Migas, Minister Trenggono Expects Fuel Stock for Fishermen to be Guaranteed

JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, asked that subsidized fuel oil (BBM) stocks for fishermen are guaranteed safe so that fishing activities are not disturbed.

This was conveyed by Trenggono when checking the availability of subsidized fuel for fishermen at the Tawang Fish Auction Place (TPI), Kendal Regency, Central Java, Sunday, September 11.

He emphasized that the distribution of subsidized fuel for fishermen must also be right on target.

"From the results of field checks, we saw that the SPBN was not operating. Information from the Regent was because the quota for subsidized fuel was limited. The fisherman also complained about diesel", said Trenggono in a written statement, quoted from Antara.

Minister Trenggono explained that his party continues to coordinate with PT Pertamina and BPH Migas regarding the fulfillment of subsidized fuel supplies for fishermen in Indonesia.

"We have a list and we have conveyed it to Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) and PT Pertamina, hopefully in the not too distant future it can be resolved", he said.

In addition, he also asked the police to carry out optimal supervision to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fuel is actually received by the fishermen who are entitled to it.

Strict supervision must be carried out to anticipate the occurrence of fraudulent distribution of subsidized fuel for fishermen.

"For the Central Java area, the Regional Police Chief has said that he is ready to carry out optimal supervision by sending a team to the field, including the SPBN. This is to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fuel for fishermen is safe and really reaches the fishermen directly", he said.

Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Lutfhi, ensured that the police would monitor the distribution of subsidized fuel to fishermen on target. His party has also assisted the task force related to the supervision of this subsidized fuel.

"In all ranks, whether it's at the refinery level or gas stations, our members are scattered. Is the gas station short, is the supply excessive, or is someone playing around", he concluded.
